Train to Kunming


Kunming is the capital of Yunnan province with legendary tourist destinations as Dali, Lijiang and the Stone Forest. Although Kunming is quite far located from Beijing, Shanghai or Xian, it is surprisingly well connected by rail to many of the main travel destinations in China.

The Kunming railway station is easy for foreigners with a special counter where you buy your ticket. When you buy your ticket, check and double check if you have the right ticket. And be always about 30 minutes in advance at the railway station. Be informed that this schedule is for reference only.

  • K => express train
  • T => limited express
  • D => MU (Multiple Units) train
  • N => local express
  • L => temporary express
  • Z => Z express (through train)
  • C => Inter-city train
  • Number => local train
