Hotels in Yangshuo

Hotels in Yangshuo are easy to find. But which is good, and which is not so good? Many travelers in China find it difficult to go there and get a hotel on the spot. And sometimes it is difficult when you find the staff doesn't speak English, can't make you understand what they can offer. Therefore I thought it was a good idea to give you a few ideas about hotels I know and I can recommend.

The following hotels in Yangshuo have an English speaking staff, a good service and clean rooms. You may find cheaper accommodation when you do search a bit more, but for sure you will not find nicer accommodation then the following hotels.

Magnolia Hotel

The Magnolia hotel is a one of the newer hotels in Yangshuo, right in the heart of the town. It's only a minute walk to West Street. The owner, Malcolm, who runs the China Cafe too has build a very sophisticated hotel at Diancui Road. The hotel has 30 rooms.

When I say sophisticated, I mean sophisticated. The Magnolia hotel is build around a courtyard. The whole feel is more of being in a more traditional Chinese traditional house then any other hotel I know in Yangshuo. Malcolm has tried to build a very different kind of hotel compared to other hotels in Yangshuo and he succeeded very well.

The Magnolia hotel has 30 rooms, all spacy with big windows. There are 21 standard rooms, 6 deluxe rooms and 3 family rooms. The deluxe rooms have a kingsize bed with living room and private bath. Some of the deluxe rooms have a balcony to the main street.

The family rooms have a deluxe room plus a standard room (king size bed and 2 single beds. The family room is in principle for 4 people though it is possible to add an extra bed in the living room for Y50 per night (during the golden week Y80). Baby's under 2 years old do not pay extra.

The standard rooms have 2 single beds and bathroom. And of course, all rooms have air conditioning, as you can expect from a good hotel as the Magnolia.

At the first floor in the hotel there's a popular vegetarian restaurant which is more than worth to check out.

The Snow Lion Resort in Yangshuo

The Snow Lion Resort is another very new hotel just outside Yangshuo. William and Linda run this great hotel which located near the Lui Sanjie show William and Linda have worked very hard over the years to fulfill a dream, to own one of the real classy hotels in Yangshuo! And, I have to admit, they have succeeded. Few places in Yangshuo offer a better and more spectacular view over the limestone mountains. With their dream coming true, William and Linda offer such a lovely hotel.

The Snow Lion Resort has 30 very good rooms for good prices available. There are the following types of rooms:

• Standard twin bed rooms: two single bed rooms with balcony
• Family suites: one big king size bed and two single beds with balcony
• Deluxe suites: one big king size bed and comfortable Sofas with balcony; Specially make for our basketball star "Yao Ming"
• Deluxe Double Room: kingsize bed and balcony
• Big Double bedrooms
• Triple rooms: 3 Single beds with balcony

All rooms have the option to place an extra bed for an additional fee per night.

The Snow Lion Resort, as located 2.5 km outside the Yangshuo town center, has a good restaurant with Chinese and Western food available. And in case you want to organize a barbeque, these facilities are also available.

The Snow Lion Resort has wireless internet facilities so you can bring your laptop computer and work in the spectacular scenery.

So, what do you pay for the Snow Lion Resort?

Above prices are including tax. Breakfast is not included but always available in the restaurant.
