Cycling to Yongcun, Lexiang and MoonhillIf you are cycling to Yongcun and continue to Lexiang and further to Moonhill, you will cycle a very little traveled part of the Yangshuo area. It is worth the effort. Here's how you do it.
There are two ways to reach Yongcun: via Liu Gong or via Aishen. Should you want to make it easy, take the Aishen road. Cycle out of Yangshuo town center in the direction of Moonhill but take the junction to Puyi and Wuzhou. Follow this road for about 10 km until you get the junction to Lexiang.
If you feel strong enough, take the dirt road to Liu Gong, details can be found here. When you are back on the main road, go left and cycle for another few kilometers to Yongcun.
This is a quite wide dirt road which leads all the way back to Moonhill. This road is quite different from other areas as the mountains on most of the road are much further away and the countryside is mostly in use as farmland.
You will back track in a 12 km loop to the main road near Moonhill. This is a fairly easy road to cycle. Once you're back on the asphalt road, you can go right, which leads to Aishen and Yangshuo. Should you go left and follow the road for a few kilometers, you will come to Moonhill Village and Moonhill.
